Kalyon Enerji has been honored with the Green Apple Award by the international environmental platform, The Green Organisation, which aims to reward the best environmental practices worldwide.
Established in 1994 as an international community to raise awareness about environmental and sustainability issues, The Green Organisation recognizes companies and institutions not only for their contributions to their own operations but also for their environmental benefits to their countries. These contributions are acknowledged through the "Green World Award" and the "Green Apple Environment Award."
In the prestigious Green Apple Environment Awards, one of the leading global awards in the field of environment and sustainability, Kalyon Enerji won the “National Silver Award” in the category of ‘Fuel, Power, and Energy: Carbon Reduction.’ with its application as Sustainable Green Energy sSelected among more than 1,200 candidates, the company was also named a Green World Ambassador.
Commenting on the award, Kalyon Enerji Board Member and CEO Dr. Murtaza Ata said: “At Kalyon Enerji, we focus on both environmental and social benefits in all our projects, especially the Karapınar Solar Power Plant (GES). Through Karapınar GES alone, we prevent 1.7 million tons of carbon emissions annually. Our pilot projects, such as grazing small livestock under solar panels at our solar power plants and protecting endemic plant species, have also attracted global attention. In November, we were invited to COP29 in Baku, where we had the opportunity to present our sustainability efforts. This award has crowned our achievements.”
Additionally, Kalyon Enerji's award-winning sustainability initiatives will be featured in "The Green Book," a publication by Green Apple recognized internationally as a reference for best environmental practices.
